frequently asked questions

How do I care for my rug?

Our rugs are professionally cleaned before being shipping to you. You can spot clean a rug at home using a mild soap and a soft brush, and let it air-dry in a space with a good amount of air flow. Do not use a commercial carpet cleaner, perfumes, or dyes as these may harm the integrity of your rug. Vacuum occasionally and shake your rug out once every couple of months to dislodge any dirt or dust that may be hiding between the fibers. Depending on the design of the rug, you may opt to reverse it from time to time to minimize wear in particular areas (such as the area that’s hidden under a couch or bed). If your rug needs a thorough clean, we highly recommend to take it to a professional. And under no circumstances do we recommend washing your rug in your home washing machine.

Do you offer discounts to designers?

We thought you’d never ask.

Absolutely, we want to help support interior designers and decorators in giving the best product to their clients. Each of the designers in our trade program is given a unique code to use at checkout that’s good for as many purchases as you wish to make. Simply fill out the form on our Trade Program page and we will verify your business within 72 hours. If you’re new to the design scene (welcome!) we may reach out and ask for some additional details to establish your credentials.

Do I have to use a rug pad?

Yes yes yes, a million times yes. While a rug pad may seem like an extra item to an already somewhat large purchase, think of this as insurance to keeping your item around for the long haul. A rug pad ensures the following: that your item stays in place (we’ve take a fall more than once from a slippery rug on a hardwood floor and don’t recommend it), that the fibers aren’t over-pulled in certain spots (which can quickly create holes), and that should your sweet Fido have an accident, that the floors beneath are saved. We recommend using a rug pad even when layering over rugs or carpeting, but in this case the pad can be thinner. Rug pads should be cut to the same size as the rug, minus half an inch, ensuring that the pad isn’t seen beneath. If you have a uniquely sized rug and are having a hard time finding a pad that’s the perfect size, we recommend sizing up and cutting off the extra padding.

We offer a small selection of rug pads that can be cut to the exact dimensions of your rug for an additional fee. If you’re interested in adding a rug pad to your purchase, please send us a message after completing your rug purchase.
